Dear E,
One of the best moments was when you started smiling. Not just gas or some sort of involuntary reflex, but actually smiling. I look forward to each morning, getting you out of bed, and seeing your smile.
Those first few months were tough, and there were some days that I thought I couldn’t go on, all it took was your smile to give me the strength. Even if it was a bad night, even if I had only gotten five hours of sleep, seeing your smile still made my day. Now, even though you (thankfully!) sleep through the night and I am not coming into your room in the morning with bleary eyes, it doesn’t mean that I look forward to seeing your beautiful smile any less.
E, you really are my sunshine, the light of my life.
