Inside of Black Cat Vintage
This unique vintage store boasts three floors of finds!

Saturday we decided to make a sourcing day. We have been moving so much inventory it feels like we are constantly having to be on the lookout for new and fun finds. We had won some auction lots at Dexter City Auctions in Cambridge, Ohio, and since we were planning on driving two and a half hours for pickup (and Mosser Glass is closed on weekends) we decided to check out Black Cat Vintage while we were in the area.

Located in downtown Cambridge, Black Cat Vintage is located in what appears to be a former department store. It features three floors filled with vendor booths, all containing a variety of items such as clothing, glassware, primitives, and even handmade goods.

What makes this vendor mall so unique is that in addition to finding some amazing vintage deals, you may run into one or two of the store’s resident cats. The lower level of the store is home to Maddy’s Cat Rescue which helps to find homes for cats in need.

Antiques and helping animals? Sounds like my kind of place!

We had a fantastic time and got some items that I am looking forward to showing off in an upcoming show. Definitely stay tuned for that!

Local vendors are highlighted at the store. Also, evidence that cats don’t discriminate when it comes to destroying furniture!

What You Should Know Before Going

Here are a few things that you should know before you visit Black Cat Vintage:

Parking is street parking, so depending on how busy downtown is the parking situation could be tricky. However, there is a loading slot near the store to make loading purchases easier.

Every so often Black Cat does a collaboration with Mosser to produce exclusive cat on nests. Watch Black Cat’s social media to find out when these drops will happen.

This is just one of the many examples of vendor booths located in Black Cat.

The store takes cash, cards, and ApplePay so you should be covered no matter how you plan to pay.

There are stairs to the upstairs area as well as the downstairs, but the stairs are wide and not very steep. Just use caution.

There are several local eating establishments in downtown, so stick around and get something to eat. We ate at Theo’s which is across the street. It was reasonably priced, the food was good, and we could just walk to Black Cat.

Another thing of note …

Oddfellows Lodge in Cambridge Ohio
This Oddfellows lodge is located across the street from Black Cat Vintage. Check out the All Seeing Eye on the facade!

Across the street from Black Cat is a former Oddfellows lodge. Built in 1893, the architecture on the building is amazing, plus check out the all-seeing eye symbol on the front of the building! Unfortunately, the building appears to be in pretty rough shape, but we can always hope someone will see its value and preserve it.

As always, please be sure to follow Third Stop Vintage on Facebook and Whatnot for some amazing antiques and vintage finds.
