vj_p_horiz_cmykTomorrow is Giving Tuesday. It is a day where, after the craziness of Black Friday and a weekend of shopping, we can give back by donating to nonprofit organizations. There are so many worthy organizations out there that it can be difficult to choose something to support.

This year, I’d love to introduce you to Victory Junction — a camp located in Randleman, North Carolina that provides life-changing camp experiences to children with chronic medical conditions or serious illness.

Image a child who spends most of the year receiving medical treatments or attending countless medical appointments. When they visit Victory Junction, it is an opportunity to forget about doctors and treatments and instead enjoy week-long summer camp sessions as well as weekend sessions with their families in the spring and fall. This is all in a safe and medically-sound environment. Plus, it is at no cost to the campers or their families.

_dsc1311What I find so appealing about this organization is that it not only gives kids an outlet from constant (and frequently, painful) medical treatments but it is also an opportunity to help boost campers’ confidence and independence as well as give them the opportunity to try new things. Victory Junction is accredited by the American Camping Association and is a member of SeriousFun Children’s Network.

All of this good work that is done by Victory Junction is funded solely through the generosity of individual, corporate, and foundation donors. What is even better is this Giving Tuesday an anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $10,000 in donations. This means that you get even more for your donation!

This is a wonderful opportunity to help aid an organization that has helped more than 22,000 children in it’s 12 years of operation. This Giving Tuesday, please consider a donation to Victory Junction.
