Disclosure: I received compensation from Family Christian Bookstores for this post, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

268673I love movies that are really inspirational. Unfortunately, in today’s society most movies are centered around violence, sex, and deception. Of course, these aren’t the sort of movies that I would want to sit down on the couch and watch as a family movie. Thankfully, there are still Christian films with quality content that I am proud to share with my family. One of these films is The Current, which is due to be released October 6.

In this movie, thirteen year old Jake is uprooted from his life in Chicago when his parents decide that city life is getting too violent, he comes across a friendship that will change his life. They buy a campground in rural Minnesota to raise their children in a better environment. At the campground, a rebellious young Jake meets Peter the boy across the river. The two form a fast friendship that God uses to transform Jake’s life in ways that Jake never could have imagined.

In addition to The Current being an inspirational and uplifting movie, if you are local to Appleton, WI, on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. three cast members from The Current will be signing autographs at the Family Christian bookstore. This event should be fun for the whole family! If you need directions to the Appleton store, just click HERE.
