This year’s Memorial Day may be over, but don’t put away your patriotic decor just yet! In fact, the Fourth of July is right around the corner!

We have a lot of Memorial Day traditions, such as getting together with family and having a backyard cookout. Or simple things such as flying our American Flag in front of the house.

For Memorial Day this year I decided to make some patriotic-themed fortune cookies. These work great as both table decor as well as party treats of favors. Plus, they are fairly easy to make.

Making Patriotic Red, White, and Blue Fortune Cookies

  • 12 store-bought fortune cookies
  • 1/2 cup Wilton royal blue candy melts
  • 1/2 cup Wilton white candy melts
  • 1/2 cup Wilton red candy melts
  • Patriotic nonpareils sprinkles
  • Patriotic jimmies sprinkles
  • Patriotic star sprinkles

Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper.  Set aside.

Dipping Fortune Cookies into Blue ChocolateAdd the royal blue candy melts to a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 45 seconds. Stir until melted and smooth.

Dip 4 fortune cookies into the melted blue chocolate and place back on the lined cookie sheet.

Immediately sprinkle with the patriotic nonpareils sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.

Microwave the white candy melts for 45 seconds.  Stir until melted and smooth.

Dip 4 of the fortune cookies into the melted white candy and return to the cookie sheet.  Sprinkle with red, white and blue jimmies sprinkles.

Microwave the red candy melts for 45 seconds and stir until melted and smooth.

Dip the remaining fortune cookies into the melted red candy and place back on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle with patriotic star sprinkles.

Wait 15 minutes for the chocolate on the cookies to harden before serving.

You can arrange the cookies in a tray on the table or even place them in a decorative take-out box. These are so cute and really bring a festive look to your party!

This doesn’t have to be the only patriotic decor that graces your home, however. I found some really cute table decor, a flag, and even bunting for the windows to help celebrate the holiday. The best part is that I got all of this stuff at a great price and with a great selection from

In fact, whether you are looking for holiday decor, patio furniture, or even living room furniture, Wayfair should be your first stop for all of your decorating needs.
