With Thanksgiving under our belts, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas.  Of course, with Christmas parties and get-togethers also means hostess gifts.

I like bringing cute and thoughtful gifts. A popular holiday party is the ugly sweater party which is why I decided to make some ugly sweater-themed hostess gifts.

Last year I came across an adorable ugly sweater-shaped cookie cutter which was absolutely adorable, so I decided to use it to make some cute hostess gifts. I began by making a batch of the ugly sweater cookies to take to the party.

Of course, what is baking cookies without a little wine? I broke out a bottle of Wente Wine in addition to the decorating materials and cookie dough. I love the rich and delicious flavors of Wente Wines which is why it is always my go-to when I head to our local wine store.

After the cookies came out of the oven, I set to work decorating them. Of course you can decorate the cookies however you want, but I chose to use some red, white, and green icing as well as all sorts of sprinkles including candy canes, hearts, and other fun sprinkles.

I decorated the batch of cookies but I felt that I needed something a little bit more to take to the party. I decided to take another delicious bottle of the Wente Wine but instead of just taking the bottle of wine I needed to dress it up a little.

I had found an ugly sweater ornament at a craft store a couple years ago and I knew that they would be perfect for dressing up a wine bottle for a hostess gift for an ugly sweater party. I still had one left so I put the sweater over the neck of the bottle to make some ugly sweater wine.

This hostess gift turned out to be a major hit and it was only made better with the Wente Wine. You can purchase Wente Wines at your favorite local retailer. Next time you need a hostess gift, be sure to check out an ugly sweater theme with Wente Wines.
