Now that it’s summer, I love being able to spend time outside with the boys. We love going outside and playing on the swing set or trampoline. One of my favorite things to do with them is sensory activities.

A recent activity that the boys love is playing with bubbles. They love experimenting with ways to make the most bubbles or the biggest bubbles. This also mean that we go through a lot of solution.

Of course you could buy, and go through, a large bottle of bubble solution, or you could make it yourself. In fact, it’s super easy and you can make a large quantity for only a couple of dollars. You will need:

  • 6 cups water
  • ½ cup dish soap
  • ½ cup corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp baking POWDER
  • 1 Tbsp glycerin

Slowly mix the five ingredients together so you don’t get too many bubbles. Allow it to set for 1 to 3 hours. This solution works best on humid or damp days.

How to Use String Giant Bubble Wands

  1. Take a wand and place in each hand.
  2. You want the weight of the string to hang down, and you can then dip your string in bubble solution. Allow it to sit for 20 seconds so it can soak up the bubble solution.
  3. As you lift the strings out, keep the strings together and lift straight up, to eye level.
  4. Slowly pull your arms apart, and the wind behind you will help create a bubble!
  5. The bubble will continue to fill with air until you bring the two wands back together, to cut off the air. So you can really create large bubbles!

You can make a bunch of small bubbles or if you want to try, you can make really large bubbles, which are my favorite way! My boys say the bigger the better! It impresses them a lot more!

Teletubbies Celebrate a Love of Bubbles!

The Teletubbies are celebrating 20 years of big hugs this year! So to celebrate that anniversary, we received the Teletubbies a few of the DVD’s, Big Hugs and Bubbles DVD! My boys loved the Bubbles DVD, it has six different episodes, the Windy Day and Bubbles are the two favorite episodes in our house!

The Tubby Custard Machine makes a lot of bubbles, and it is fun watching them run around popping the bubbles, and make bubbles in the episodes. It was fun in return going outside and making bubbles with my boys! I always love spending time with them, and making special memories!

Teletubbies is a very fun and educational show for your child to watch. It helps young children really grow and learn in so many ways, from cognitive skills, learning how to play, explore, experiencing and enjoying life and more. They teach your child how to do things in a fun way, where your child feels like they are just playing, instead of learning!

In all the episodes it is a great way to get your kids up and get active, as they have interactive moments in the shows, to let kids join in! If your child needs to learn more communication skills this is a great series, they encourage children to join in with their adventures! This series is truly amazing!

I think out of all the characters Dipsy is one of our families favorite! He is so fun loving and we love how he dances around all the time, when he gets excited! Dispy is green, and he has a black and white hat that he loves to wear! Dispy also loves to give really big hugs! We love giving hugs in our home, so it fits us perfectly!
