When babies are tiny it seems that all you do is feed and change diapers. It can be exhausting. I remember I couldn’t wait until E could hold a bottle on his own. I swear he knew that I was waiting for him because he took his good old time too. He was eight months old before I could get him to take a bottle by himself. In that time, I got really good at the holding him in one arm, resting my chin on the bottle to hold it steady and either use the phone or the remote with the other hand. I felt like I needed to be an octopus.

Of course, after E started drinking his bottle on his own I found a product called the Li’l Helper. The Li’l Helper works by inserting the bottle into one corner of the triangular design (It fits most bottle sizes). It works with the natural grip reflex to help baby feed himself. The Li’l Helper is BPA-free and even has a little rattle attached!

This allows parents to free up a hand in order to multitask while watching the baby. If you have multiples this may literally be a lifesaver!

I do want to note that while it could be tempting to prop the bottle in the baby’s mouth either at night or at bedtime, resist the urge because this could lead to the baby choking. Make sure that before using it your baby is able to grasp things and could potentially remove it if needed.

If you want to order your own Li’l Helper, or if you know someone who is expecting, you can buy it for $15.99 on Amazon. As I said before, this would be great if someone you know is having multiples!
