Television, Internet, and phone. You are probably hard pressed to find a household without some variation of all three. The problem is that the cost for each of these services can really begin to add up. If you know me, you know that I hate paying for things that I don’t have to. Expensive home phone service is one of those things!

I’ve actually been an Ooma customer for years, and I love it. Why pay $40 a month for home phone service when you can only pay between $4 and $7 a month with Ooma?

Ok, so if you’ve never heard of Ooma you are probably wondering what it is. If you are already an Ooma customer then you know that I’m talking about and why I love it so much!

OomaWithPhoneOma is an internet-based phone system which provides free U.S. calling — with no long-term contracts or commitments. All you have to pay is a one-time $99.99 purchase of the Ooma Tela hardware and then between $4 and $7 each month for taxes and fees.

Just because Ooma is going to save you a boatload of money doesn’t mean that you will be lacking when it comes to service and features. In fact, you might be getting even more than you do with your current phone provider.

Not only will you get superior voice quality and reliability, but you will also get caller ID and call-waiting. Plus, you can call free to another Ooma customer — anywhere in the world!

If you are like my parents, you have had your phone number forever. No worries! Ooma offers the option to keep your home phone number for a one-time fee of $39.99, otherwise you can choose your own number in most any available area code for free.

Another nice feature of Ooma is that you can upgrade to their Premier Service for only $9.99 per month. Premier service allows you to block unwanted calls with blacklists, free calling to Canada, call forwarding, and you can even have it ring your home and mobile phones simultaneously.

Of course, my main phone is still my cell phone, but when I am having longer conversations with friends and family it is way more comfortable to use the home phone.

You can check out Ooma for yourself as well as see all of the features of the basic and premier plans on the Ooma website. I promise, you will love it!
