These past few days have been in the 90s. It has been sticky and uncomfortable, but the kids have still wanted to be able to play outside. This means a refreshing summer drink for the mommies is in order!

I admit that I am definitely a coffee-lover — and so are many of my friends. We love sipping coffee on the back porch while the kids are in the backyard playing. The problem is, when it’s 90 degrees you don’t exactly want to sit outside with a hot coffee.

Thank goodness for iced coffee.

The other day I decided to get a little bit creative with my regular caramel creme coffee. There are so many delicious coffee creamers out there, such as the International Delight® French Vanilla and International Delight® Caramel Macchiato flavors. I love mixing and matching the creamers with different ingredients in order to get unique and delicious concoctions.

One of these blends that I’ve been loving recently is my Salted Caramel Frappe. The best part is this drink is so easy to make at home and tastes just as good as one you’d get at the coffee shop.

Making Homemade Salted Caramel Frappes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup caramel coffee (cooled)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp chocolate topping
  • 3 Tbsp. International Delight Caramel Macchiato coffee creamer
  • 12 ice cubes
  • pinch of salt
  • Reddi-wip® real dairy cream
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Crushed pretzels

Using a blender, combine the milk, vanilla, sugar, chocolate topping, Caramel Macchiato creamer, and salt. Use a low setting to thoroughly combine the ingredients.

Add the ice to the blender and blend until smooth. (Start with a low speed and increase as needed.)

Once the coffee has been blended to a smooth, slushy-like consistency, pour into a glass and top with a dollop of Reddi-wip, caramel syrup, and crushed pretzel bits.

The great thing about this recipe is that it can be created by the glass, or if you are entertaining, even by the pitcher! Whatever way you make it, it will certainly be a crowd-pleaser!

International Delight creamers and Reddi-wip are always my coffee go-tos. I feel that they make the whole drink! Especially if you love sweet and creamy.

Reddi-wip is made from cows not treated with artificial growth hormone and has no artificial flavors or sweeteners. In fact, real dairy cream is the number one ingredient.

You can purchase both International Delight creamers as well as Reddi-wip in the dairy isle of your local Walmart, or just look for the special displays.
