WillowTreeMothersDayI was recently at my local Family Christian store when I saw The Quilt Willow Tree figurine. As soon as I saw it I knew that it was something that I had to buy my mom for Mother’s Day. You see, with both E and Baby R my mom always had a special way of rocking them to sleep. In the family room at my parents’ house is a blue platform rocker. My mom would take the boys, sit down in that rocking chair, put a quilt over them, and start humming. Like magic, the boys would always settle down and go to sleep.

Tha’s what is so great about these Willow Tree figures. They all have the potential to represent special memories. Maybe that is why they are some of my favorite keepsakes. They don’t have any fancy colors or striking details, in fact, their beauty comes from their simplicity. The figures all have subdue colors and lack facial features. This makes it easier for the figures to represent anyone who might be special to us.

If you are trying to come up with a Mother’s Day gift for that special person in your life, I have gathered together some of my favorite Demdaco Willow Tree figures that would be perfect for gift-giving.

Close to Me

Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 6.53.29 PMAlthough I don’t have a daughter of my own, as someone who is close to her own mother, this figure really speaks to me. There have been countless times (even recently) that I have found so much comfort in my mother’s embrace.

Child of My Heart

Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 6.57.18 PMMy husband bought me this figure for Mother’s Day when E was a year and a half old. It depicts a mother and a child, which reminded me so much of E and I, especially because this is exactly how E loved me to hold him whenever he was sad, scared, or even just tired.

We Are Three

Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 6.59.55 PMThis is a beautiful figurine for any new parents. It would also make a wonderful baby gift. I think it perfectly depicts that moment of awe that new parents have when they are looking at, and admiring, their new baby. This is a special reminder of how special a new baby is, as it is sometimes easy to forget that feeling in the chaos, and sleeplessness, of that first year.

The Grandmother

Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 7.02.10 PMIf you are a grandmother, you recognize the scene that this figure depicts. Just holding the new baby on your lap and talking to him or her, and looking into their eyes. Although you did not give birth to them, you love them like your own and would do anything for that tiny baby.
