Make beautiful tissue paper flowers in four easy steps. Perfect for bouquets and weddings. My mother is my best friend. Although we’ve had our differences over the years, mainly during my younger years, I’ve always known that no matter what, she will always be there for me.

Since becoming a mom myself, I’ve realized how difficult a job it is to be a mom. In fact, moms deserve recognition everyday, but Mother’s Day is particularly important.

You see, being a mom isn’t about the recognition. In fact, when you consider it is usually a mom’s job to clean diapers, wipe up messes, and chauffeur kids everywhere, it is arguably one of the most unglamorous (and thankless) jobs there is. This is why it is so important to take a moment on Mother’s Day just to tell mom that you appreciate all that she does.

One of the most basic ways to do this is with a card. Buying a card is really simple but it really means so much. It shows mom that you recognize her efforts and appreciate all that she does.

In fact, I was at Walmart the other day and came across the Hallmark Signature Mother’s Day cards. They had a whole display and the selection was beautiful. What is particularly nice is that these cards are more than just a regular card, but also feature beautiful extras and embellishments to make them extra special.

When it comes to gifts for mom, one of the most popular things to pair with a Hallmark Signature card is flowers. The problem is, fresh cut flowers have a lifespan of one, maybe two, weeks.

This year, consider making mom a tissue paper flower bouquet. these bouquets are beautiful, but the best part is that they won’t die or need watering.

Making Tissue Paper Flower Bouquets

Begin by stacking 8 pieces of tissue paper measuring approximately 6 inches by 7 inches. Accordion fold the paper so that the folds are approximately 3/4 of an inch wide.

Once you’ve folded the paper, secure it by using a piece of floral wire wrapped around the middle of the paper.

After securing the paper with the wire, cut the ends of the tissue paper so that they are rounded.

Turn the flower so that the flat side is facing you and begin by gently pulling each layer of tissue paper to to the center. Repeat on each layer and each side. Fluff the flower as you go.

Wrap the remaining wire around a floral stem and cover it with floral tape.

Make several of these and place in a bottle or vase. Now you have a beautiful bouquet to give mom for her special day!

I love personalized gifts and sending paper cards because it truly lets the mom see that you care for them. Plus, she can keep the card for years to come. In fact, I have all of the cards my sons have given me for Mother’s Day.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Ibotta has an offer for a $1.00 rebate on any Hallmark Mother’s Day card priced $2.97 and over. Find additional digital coupons and inspiration for Mother’s Day on the Hallmark Social HUB.

So this year, be sure to show your mom how special she is by making her a handmade flower bouquet along with a personalized Hallmark Signature card from Walmart.
