peppermintjarcandle_titleIt’s time to starting thinking about Christmas gifts. I have a lot of people on my list this year, but not a large budget. This means that I will be doing a lot of DIY gifts this year.

There are many types of handmade gifts that you can make, including coffees, fleece blankets, or even ornaments. One easy (and inexpensive!) handmade gifts that you can make is a peppermint jar candle.

DIY Peppermint Jar Candle

jarcandlesuppliesAs I mentioned before, this jar candle made from soy wax is really easy to make. You will need:

Glass jar or container

1 pound soy wax chips

Lead-free candle wicks

Nature’s Truth Peppermint Essential Oil

I found a cute peppermint-themed glass jar at the craft store. I knew that this would be perfect for the jar candles. Plus, the wax could be melted right in the jar.

Fill the jar with the soy wax chips. Keep in mind that once you start melting the wax chips, the amount of wax in the jar will decrease.

Put the jar of wax in the microwave. Microwave in 45-second increments. Keep doing this until all of the wax has melted. (Pro tip: You will want to add additional chips as the wax is melting in order to get the volume of wax you want in the jar.)

jarcandlewithpeppermintI chose the Nature’s Truth Peppermint Essential Oil not only because it makes me think of the holidays, but also because of its revitalizing and vibrant fragrance.

Aromatherapy is and age-old tradition that brings together the unique scents of essential oils and our senses. This means that essential oils can be incorporated into many DIY projects including in the shower, massage, in a diffuser, in soaps, and even in home remedies.

In addition to the bottles of essential oils, you can also purchase the essential oils in roll-on form for on the go aromatherapy. I purchased the peppermint roll-on essential oil which is cooling and refreshing.

essentialoilsstorephotoNature’s Truth Essential Oils come in a variety of fragrances such as Eucalyptus, Good Night, Frankincense, and 4Thrive. You can purchase the Nature’s Truth Essential Oils in the vitamin isle at a variety of retailers, including CVS.

Additionally, for a limited time, print a $1.00 off coupon for your purchase of Nature’s Truth Essential Oils.
