Creating Handmade Housewarming Gift Bundles

It seems that quite a few of my friends are buying houses this spring. That means that I am always on the hunt for quality housewarming gifts. There are a lot of things out there but I always want something that is not only personal but also practicals.

After I discovered the Scotch-Brite™ Scrubbing Dish Cloth, I have begun using it to create handmade gift bundles with useful kitchen essentials to give as housewarming gifts. This dish cloth is the perfect tool for the kitchen! (But, more on that later.)

In addition, I embellished these bundles with an easy-to-make gift tag.

Making a Die Cut Flower Gift Tag

Since moving is always a fun and exciting time, I decided to embellish my gift tag with some die cut flowers. You will need a few supplies for this including:

• The Petal by Petal paper punch
• Two contrasting pieces of cardstock
• A bookmark
• Glue

Begin by punching out five sets of petals from each piece of card stock.

Build the petals by gluing the smaller petal to the larger petal. Attach the petals to the bookmark by placing glue near the center of the petal (don’t cover the whole petal if you are going to leave some parts hanging off the edge). Arrange all five petals so that it forms a flower. Do this with both sets.

Glue down any extra pieces that are raising up. Cover with a heavy book to flatten out the flowers.

Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark, thread ribbon through, and attach it to the gift bundle.

See, I told you it was really easy!

Creating a Handmade Housewarming Gift Bundle

I figure my friends can always use utensils such as whisks, scrapers, measuring spoons, a dish towel, and dish cloths.
