It’s FINALLY summer which means the boys are out of school and we are out and about much more often. I always like my sons to be active so we go on a lot of adventures to the park or the playground.

After several years of these sorts of outings with the boys, I have found some essentials that I always keep on hand.

Essential Playground Items

First Aid Kit. I always advocate keeping a first aid kit in your car — even if it is a basic one. I keep essentials such as various bandages, sanitizing wipes, antibacterial ointment, tweezers, and even eye drops in a bag which I keep in my car. You never know what sort of accidents you may encounter so it is important to be prepared.

Water Bottles. In can be easy to get dehydrated when you are out playing, especially during the hot summer months. Always keep a few water bottles on hand. To save money, use a reusable water bottle and fill it with ice at home.

Sunscreen and Hat. My son and I have the white Irish skin. This means that we have to be careful out in the sun. I always make sure to keep a bottle of sunscreen and a hat in the car. Children have very sensitive skin so using a sunscreen with a high SPF is important.

Kleenex Go Anywhere Packs. It always seems that my kids need their hands or faces wiped. Thanks to my allergies I will need to blow my nose every so often. I remember when I was younger my mom would always keep a plastic bag full of Kleenex in her purse. Well, Kleenex has done one better and created, Kleenex Go Anywhere Packs, refillable on-the-go solution with an easy open top which are perfect for sticking in a purse, diaper bag, or backpack.

The best part is right now you can save $0.50 on Kleenex Go Anywhere Packs when you purchase them at Walmart. In fact, when I was there I picked up several packs, one for my backpack, one for on the stroller, and one for in the car. You can’t be too prepared!
