Hot Air Balloon Gift Basket with Playtex BottlesWhen you have your first baby you might be anticipating lots of different challenges, but one thing you may not anticipate is difficulty when it comes to feeding your baby.

Feeding can actually be a challenge for many new moms. Some babies won’t latch on for breastfeeding and other babies will refuse a bottle. What is a new mom to do?

One baby gift I give to all of my friends who are having a baby for the first time is the Playtex VentAire® bottles.

So what makes the VentAire bottle different?

The VentAire bottle has a unique bottom vent to keep air at the back of the bottle and out of baby’s tummy which reduces gas, spit-up, and fussiness. Regardless of whenever the new mom is planning on breastfeeding or formula feeding, the Playtex VentAire bottles are ideal.

A major concern of some moms is a baby’s ability to switch between the breast and the bottle. Playtex VentAire bottles have “most like mom” Naturalatch® nipples, which are designed to mimic a baby’s natural latch-on.

In addition, the Playtex VentAire was a “Mom’s Pick Best of 2017” finalist, determined by a vote of moms on BabyCenter.

While the VentAire bottles are some of my favorites to give as gifts, I also love creating cute gift baskets to put them in. This hot air balloon one has to be one of my favorites though.

Making a Hot Air Balloon Gift Basket

You will need a few supplies including:

  • Paper lantern
  • Small wicker basket
  • 3/16″ dowel rods
  • Flower embellishments

I found a really cute white wicker basket at my local craft store which I knew would be perfect for making the basket of the hot air balloon.

I also purchased two 3/16″ lengths of dowel rods, which I trimmed so I had four 15″ pieces. Then, I painted them white and attached them to the inside corners of the basket.

You will want to find a paper lantern which is approximately the width of the basket. Hot glue the lantern to the ends of the sticks so it is secure and the sticks are holding up the lantern.

To cover up where the sticks were glued to the lantern, I added some pink paper flower embellishments.

Now all that is left is to fill the basket and deliver it to that special expecting mama.

Be sure to check out the new mom’s Babies “R” Us registry to find any additional ideas to fill your hot air balloon with in addition to the VentAire bottles. If you yourself are an expecting mom, be sure to check out the Babies “R” Us Registry 101 event on the first Saturday of the month. This event will help you set up your registry. Additionally, there is a even a registry completion event every third Tuesday of the month that is designed to close out the registry with a completion discount.
