Green Play Slime with Glitter Shamrocks and GlitterMy boys love sensory play, and I love coming up with different themes of play. With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, I decided to make some St. Patrick’s Day crafts with the boys. One of these was St. Patrick’s Day Play Slime.

Glitter, clear glue, liquid starch, and a containerAt first making slime seems intimidating, however, it really isn’t. You only need four ingredients: liquid starch, clear glue, green food coloring, and any embellishments you want such as glitter.

Making St. Patrick’s Day Play Slime

You will want to use a bottle of the clear glue in order to give the slime the best look. I also recommend the washable kind. Pour the entire bottle of glue into a container. Next, add in the liquid starch a little bit at a time. You can actually purchase the liquid starch in the laundry isle at Walmart.

Glittery Shamrock embellishments ready to be added to slimeAt this point, you will add in a small amount of food coloring as well as your embellishments. You can always add in more food coloring to get the color you desire. Mix all of the ingredients together.

Once all of the ingredients have been mixed, its time to add in the embellishments, such as glitter. For this St. Patrick’s Day Play Slime I decided to use some shamrock confetti as well as glitter for the slime.

Speaking of messy, Baby R managed to get a couple of globs of the slime in his hair. For this, I just waited until we were done playing and then put him in the bath tub. Just soap up the hair and use a comb to remove the slime.
