images-6 Boba Carrier

Before having R, I had no idea how difficult juggling two young children could be. I envisioned being able to hold the baby and still be able to take care of E. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In actuality, it was difficult to get anything done when the baby wants to be held and the toddler also wants my attention. Forget trying to get housework done!

With E I had had a front pack carrier, but I didn’t use it very often. Then, I read that baby carriers in which the baby’s legs hang straight down can lead to hip dislocation. In addition, many of the generic carriers don’t offer a lot of back support so wearing them always seemed uncomfortable. When I found out I was pregnant with baby #2 I wanted to find a carrier that was practical, easy to use, and also would protect my baby’s hips.

Hip Dysplasia in Baby Carrier

When you are choosing a carrier you need to look for one when in the upright position, your baby’s knees should be pulled to hip level or higher, in a frog-like position. This fills out the hip socket, aligns the pelvis, and places the spine in a natural, rounded position. Do not tuck your baby’s legs under his or her bottom. This places pressure on the legs and may impede blood flow or pinch a nerve.

I researched several kinds of baby carriers, and some required a separate insert for infants, some could only be used on the front, and others weren’t for larger children. One that I really loved though was the Boba Carrier.

The Boba Carrier 4G includes more than a dozen features making this carrier truly one of a kind! This can be used for both babies and toddlers as it can be used from 7 pounds through 45 pounds. It includes a integrated infant insert which means you don’t have to buy a separate one! In addition, the carrier features an ergonomic design, removable foot straps, multiple carrying positions, and multiple adjustments.

This carrier has given me so much freedom when chasing after the children. I am able to nurse the baby while getting E breakfast or play with E while also holding the sleeping baby. I am sure that this carrier will be even more useful come summer when I am taking E to the park and need a good way to carry R, and the best part is that I won’t have a backache afterwards!

BUY IT: The Boba Carrier 4G is available through the Boba website and range in price from $125 to $148.
